There are nearly 30 fishing tournaments in or around CaboSAn Lucas every year. Brisbees Billfish Tournament in October is the one you find on ESPN; and it graces the covers of "Sport Fishing Magazine".

The big fish are caught in the fall; but even so, the Stars and Stripes Fishing Tournament is held in June. And the Surf and Panga Roosterfish Classic is held in July. The general rule of thumb is: the warmer the water, the more activity you'll see on your line. In Los Cabos, hot days, scarce clouds and warm, deep currents attract more than 800 species of hungry sea life to this area. Over 40,000 Marlin are caught annually in this area. Marlin can grow up to 13 feet and over 900 pounds. Depending on your budget, size of party, and duration, a charter boat ranges from $250 to $600 per day.
