Snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas is magnificent. The water is about 80 Degrees and no wetsuit is needed. The 1,000 mile Baja Peninsula is a marine sanctuary. It is not uncommon for a snorkeler to be treated to views of 100 feet or more. Schools of Triggerfish, Angelfish, Parrotfish, Goatfish, Sea Turtles, and over 800 other species of sea life are all waiting for you to discover.
"Lovers Beach", is a great place to snorkel. Just minutes away by water taxi from downtown Cabo San Lucas, this beach is inaccessible by land. We recommend going down to the marina and asking to be taken to "Lovers Beach". The round trip should cost about $25.00 US dollars and is well worth it. A guided tour of the Famous Arch, Lovers Beach and Sea Lion Colony Tour should run approximately $25.00 US dollars per person and is also one of the top tourist sites in the Cabo area.
Snorkeling equipment may be rented in and around the marina for approximately $10.00 US per day. This equipment should include mask, snorkel and fins. Don't forget to wear sunscreen while snorkeling in the Cabo Surf. It is also wise to bring food and plenty of water. The Pacific side of The Arch has extremely strong currents as well as undertows: so we recommend staying on the marina side of The Arch where the Ocean waters are more shallow and calm.
